Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Haitian Heritage Month, and Others

May serves as a beacon for celebrating various heritages, including Asian American and Pacific Islander, Haitian, Indian, Jewish-American, and South Asian heritages. These months are not just about recognizing the contributions and history of these groups but also about understanding their unique challenges, triumphs, and stories. Personal History Awareness and Mental Health Month

From Star Wars Day to Memorial Day

May's calendar is dotted with days that bring people together, from the light-hearted celebration of Star Wars Day, “May the 4th Be With You,” promoting camaraderie among fans worldwide, to the solemnity of Memorial Day, honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. These observances, though varied in tone, underscore the importance of community, remembrance, and shared narratives.

International Days: A Global Dialogue

The inclusion of days like the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development and the International Day for Biological Diversity highlights the necessity of international cooperation and dialogue in solving global challenges. These days advocate for the richness of cultural diversity and the essential role of biological diversity in sustaining life, promoting messages of unity in diversity and harmonious coexistence.

AANR will be holding an interim online-only Board Meeting

Monday, May 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm EDT.

This meeting will be a great time to update the board on various projects within committees. If committees submit a written report President Mitch London will include it in the meeting. Each committee chair will have an opportunity to speak about their committee's projects if any.

The meeting will be a chance for our board members and committee chairs to give updates on their projects and efforts.

This will also be an opportunity for AANR members to attend the meeting and offer ideas.
